The differences between pressure reducing valve, safety valve, pressure stabilizing valve and pressure relief valve

Pressure reducing valves, safety valves, pressure stabilizing valves, and pressure relief valves are all pressure valves, and the main difference is in function.
01 Pressure reducing valve
A device that reduces high-pressure media to low-pressure media, characterized by: even when the inlet pressure is constantly changing, the outlet pressure and temperature values are kept within a certain range.
02 Safety valve
A valve used to prevent overpressure from damaging boilers, pressure vessels and other equipment and pipelines. When the pressure is slightly higher than the normal working pressure, the safety valve automatically opens to reduce the pressure; when the pressure is slightly lower than the normal working pressure, the safety valve automatically closes, stops discharging fluid and remains sealed.
03 Pressure stabilizing valve
A device that keeps the medium in an area within a certain pressure range.
Difference: ① Pressure reducing valve: Regardless of how the inlet pressure changes, the outlet pressure is reduced to the rated value to reduce pressure. ② Pressure stabilizing valve: Regardless of how the downstream pressure and demand change, a constant upstream pressure is maintained.
04 Pressure relief valve
It is mainly used in situations where the pressure is too high. When the pressure is greater than the set value, the inner plate of the valve is pushed open to release the pressure in time. After the pressure is reduced, it returns to its original position. It is not much different from the safety valve. The pressure relief valve is mostly used for liquids, and the safety valve is mostly used for gas and steam.
Safety valves and pressure reducing valves are two types of valves and are special valves. Among them, the safety valve belongs to the safety release device and is a special valve. It only acts when the working pressure exceeds the allowable range to protect the system. The pressure reducing valve is a process valve that can reduce the pressure of high-pressure logistics to meet the pressure requirements of the subsequent system. Its working process is continuous.
